Swansea midfielder Jonathan De Guzman has claimed that his men could have beaten Napoli, if only they’d taken their chances.

The Premier League outfit were knocked out of the Europa League on Thursday evening after going down 3-1 at Stadio Olimpico.

But the attacker has insisted that his side could have been celebrating a Last 16 place, if they’d have put their shooting boots on.

“For long stretches we dominated the match,” he told reporters. “But Napoli put pressure on us in the second half and scored when they had the chance.

“It’s a shame because we could have found ourselves in the next round if only we’d taken our opportunities.

“We had the chance to hurt our opponents, but we just didn’t take it.

“Despite all this however, the Europa League has been a great experience for us and we hope to be back soon.”
