Hajduk Split’s sporting director admits that Tino-Sven Susic is close to joining Inter, saying the Nerazzurri are ‘really interested’.
The midfielder has already declared that a move to San Siro would be ‘a dream’, and Goran Vucevic has revealed that discussions are taking place.
“The talks in Milan?” the Croatian club’s sporting director considered as he spoke to Index.
“I can’t go into too much detail, as the club might get upset and it could undermine the negotiations.
“What I can say is that Inter are really interested in the lad, and also the player wants to go to Milan.
“However, we haven’t received any official offers for him yet, we have to see how the situation will develop.”
Recent years have seen Italian clubs target a lot of Croatian national and Croatian-based players, with Mateo Kovacic at Inter being a notable example, and Vucevic discussed the links between Serie A and the Prva HNL.
“It’s good that Croatian players move to Italy, in recent years they’ve made a good impression, and it’s important that the lads justify their price tags.
“There’s a lot of respect for our players in Italy, but the financial crisis is clear and that’s why clubs look for loans rather than outright purchases.
“Having said that, Hajduk’s philosophy is not to sell players for a cut-price, sometimes in Croatia we prefer to buy players for €50,000 and sell for €5m.
“We’re a strong club in many ways, but we can’t afford players that cost a lot. It’s not something which only affects us.”
