The Bosnia international flew in to Sicily for his medical and to sign the contract.

“Italian football is very important and it’s always been my dream to play in Serie A. It is good for me to have many teammates at Palermo who are also from the Balkans.
“I have to train and get to know my teammates, then the Coach will decide if I play this weekend or not.”
He only joined VfB Stuttgart in August 2015 after spells at Zrinjski Mostar, KV Kortrijk, Zorya Luhansk and Kuban Krasnodar.
