Andrea Stramaccioni could still be in charge of Inter for 2012-13, director Ernesto Paolillo has stated on Wednesday.
It was understood that the former youth team boss, who replaced Claudio Ranieri on Monday, would only be in control until the end of the season.
However, Paolillo has told Radio Monte Carlo that the club are hoping that the 36-year-old could resolve their coaching problems.

However, Paolillo has told Radio Monte Carlo that the club are hoping that the 36-year-old could resolve their coaching problems.
“The President was quite clear – Stramaccioni is not just a caretaker boss,” the Nerazzurri director commented.
“We are hoping that he can start a new young cycle at this club.
“We need a cocktail where the base is formed by some older players, but there are four or five younger elements who could give us a different taste.”
Stramaccioni was unveiled to the media on Tuesday during a Press conference which was surprisingly interrupted by Mario Balotelli.
“A Balotelli return? He’s a Manchester City player,” Paolillo responded. “I’ve learned to never say never in football, however…
“Balotelli illustrated his unpredictability yesterday, it was incredible – especially for our new Coach.”
