Andrea Stramaccioni was “furious” with Udinese after defeat to Cesena and cancelled their day off as punishment.

The Friulani were beaten 1-0 at the Stadio Manuzzi and risk being dragged back into the relegation fight.

“I expected more from the team,” Strama told Rai Sport.

“We started well, then seemed to settle for a point. You can’t do that in Serie A. It is unacceptable to concede a goal like that, as Alejandro Rodriguez was completely unmarked.

“The reaction to going behind was late to arrive too and that’s not good either. Since the game with Empoli I’ve seen a psychological easing off and I hope this defeat can wake my players up.

“I am furious and tomorrow there will be no day off. We’re going to all come in and train. We have to get back on track and quickly reach 40 points to secure safety.

“Udinese should be picking up points here. We lost because of a serious distraction and it’s a defeat that makes me angry.”
