The former Inter Coach took over last month after Francesco Guidolin retired to become a sporting director at the club.

“This is a club that finds players with an incredible scouting network, signing promising figures who are ready to explode,” Strama told Sportitalia.

“We are a factory of great players, so there are always great talents behind the first choice members of the squad. Of course, before accepting the Udinese job I made sure Antonio Di Natale was still here!”

Among the talents who have come through the Stadio Friuli are new Arsenal signing Alexis Sanchez and Fiorentina’s Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.

“This is the Udinese world, very different to that of Inter, but still at the vanguard in Italy and Europe. I didn’t expect 4,000 people to attend our presentation, but there is such passion for this long-term and solid project.

“If I am a Serie A Coach at all, then I owe it to Massimo Moratti and will always be grateful. I hope now to repay the Pozzo family for their faith in me.”

There is plenty of Inter at Udinese, as Stramaccioni brought in recently-retired Stankovic to be his assistant manager.

“When we play at San Siro, the whole stadium will be there for Stankovic, while part of my heart will always cheer on the Nerazzurri.

“I chose Stankovic because of his presence in the Inter locker room. He was already more than a player there and I am convinced he’ll do very well.

“There was a special rapport between us. The best thing about Dejan is that, despite having won so much, he still wants to win more with this club.”

Muriel had been a candidate to leave Udinese this summer, but Stramaccioni is betting on the Colombian.

“I read unfair criticism of him after a difficult season. He has a special physique and that means he needs to be at 100 per cent. Udinese are focusing on him, as we all know he can do very well with this jersey.”
