Andrea Stramaccioni insists Inter will not sell Samir Handanovic and Fredy Guarin, but has regrets over this season as they visit Palermo.

The Nerazzurri are in a huge injury crisis and face a struggle to qualify for Europe. Click here for a match preview.

“I think Palermo have a solid structure within their team and above all on home turf can make life difficult for anyone,” said Strama in his Press conference.

“It is an important match in the fight for safety, but it is also crucial for us. I expect a lively and fiery encounter.”

Walter Samuel is the latest addition to the absentee list and transfer gossip surrounds Handanovic and Guarin.

“You all know how important Samir is for us, because he did so well replacing Julio Cesar. He is a charismatic figure and as far as I am concerned Inter cannot do without Handanovic in the future,” continued the Coach.

“Guarin was also in the papers, but I see no chance of either of them leaving Inter. We are keeping a tight grip on our players.

“We have changed a great deal this season, which is why we must learn from our mistakes and ensure they don’t happen again. I am proud to be in this project, as are the players, because the only thing that matters is Inter.”

Once again, Tommaso Rocchi is the only available striker for the Palermo game, so 19-year-old Francesco Forte is drafted in.

“There are many regrets, because despite all the problems we could’ve had a few more points. This is football and we have to look forward. We must do well at Palermo, even if they need a result too.

“The biggest regret is that we didn’t have our most important players at our disposal. The constant changing of line-ups hit our consistency, but last Sunday against Parma we proved that we’ve got what it takes.

“Now we have to deal with the Palermo crowd and atmosphere, so it will be a more difficult game compared to Parma.”
