It’s a busy week for the Italian sides and three days after the positive result at home to Sampdoria, De Leo needs to prepare the tired Bologna players for another tough battle against high-flying Cagliari at the Sardegna Arena.

“We won’t have anyone back, we will have the same guys as we had against Sampdoria,” said Sinisa Mihajlovic's assistant manager at a press conference. “We will take into account the short time period [between the matches], but we don’t have any alterations regarding the players.”

“We have made some efforts to raise the level of expectations. We try to reach our objectives step by step,” added the 41-year-old before talking about how they need to stand their ground to get something from the match against the Sardinians.

“We don’t want to be passive; we will try to meet them with a high line. They are doing well, but we will go there with our heads held high.”

Another win might boost Bologna’s position in the league even further, as they climbed to tenth place in Serie A last weekend. De Leo is still thinking about the bigger picture and doesn’t look at this week as a season-defining moment for his team.

“I don’t think so. It’s right to have short term goals, but we don’t look at the standings.”
