“After the break Atalanta improved and a draw came out of it. It’s a shame, because we wanted to and indeed had to win in front of our fans to close up on the teams ahead of us in the table.

“The drop in intensity was down to both physical fitness and our psychological status. At this moment our position in the standings and the results that aren’t coming took away some of our enthusiasm.

“I remain confident, confident in the potential of my players. The only positive aspect is that we kept a clean sheet, seeing as we’d conceded a lot lately. We should’ve done more in attack.”
