Sporting CP are reportedly keen on bringing Inter midfielder Joao Mario back to the club this summer.

According to O Jogo, Joao Mario is also enthusiastic about a return to Sporting, where he began his career.

However, Calciomercato.com warns Inter will not accept any less than €18m for the Portuguese as they look to avoid making any capital losses.

That could prove a bit too steep for the Lisbon club as they will also have to shell out on his salary, with the 26-year-old contracted to earn €2.7m a season until 2021.

Alternatively, Sporting could loan him for a year with an obligation to buy next summer.

Inter splashed out €40m plus €5m in bonuses for Joao Mario in the summer of 2016, but he has gone on to play just 64 times for the Nerazzurri.

He once pledged never to play for the Beneamata again and spent the second half of the 2017-18 campaign at West Ham United.

The Euro 2016 winner was also recently sent home from training for showing an alleged lack of effort.
