Napoli have reported Spezia fans to the FIGC after a chanting making fun of the death of Diego Maradona was heard during their clash on Sunday.

Luciano Spalletti’s side cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win at the Stadio Alberto Picco in La Spezia, with goals from dynamic duo Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Victor Osimhen securing all three points for the Scudetto hopefuls, who sit 13 points clear of second place Inter.

Il Mattino details how numerous abusive chants were heard from the Spezia fans during their 3-0 loss to Napoli, with one in particular frustrating the Campania outfit and their fans.

During the match, the following chant was heard: “Do you know why my corazón (heart) is beating? Maradona is dead, Maradona is dead.”

Another chant aimed at the Napoli legend was heard later in the match, a ruder “Diego doesn’t ‘pippa’ anymore”, as well as the usual chants of territorial discrimination towards Napoli and their supporters.

The Partenopei have reported the abuse and Spezia’s Curva Ferrovia could now be closed by the FIGC for their upcoming games.
