Spezia are seriously interested in signing Bordeaux midfielder and Milan target Jean Onana in a definitive deal, reports suggest.

The Rossoneri have been looking for a midfield reinforcement for a number of weeks now following the departure of Franck Kessie last month, and one player on their radar is the 22-year-old Onana. Milan’s first offer, a loan deal with a buy option attached, was quickly rejected by Bordeaux.

As reported by Secolo XIX and Gianluca Di Marzio, Spezia are serious about picking up Onana on a definitive deal in the remaining days of the summer transfer window, leaving Milan at risk of missing out.

Bordeaux want around €4-5m for Onana and are not open to a loan move, so the Ligurian side will have to move fast if they want to get a deal across the line before deadline day.

Last season, the 22-year-old Cameroonian midfielder scored three goals and provided two assists in 23 Ligue 1 appearances.
