Luciano Spalletti has extended his contract with Zenit and admits he wants to sign Wesley Sneijder and Mauro Zarate, “but not Milos Krasic.”

The Coach had been linked with a return to Serie A for Inter at the end of the season, but instead put pen to paper on a contract extension with Zenit St Petersburg until June 2015.

The Russian transfer window doesn’t shut until late February, so there is still time for them to swoop for Serie A stars.

“The media has written a great deal about our interest in Krasic, perhaps too much,” he told Itasportpress.

“Everyone knows the Juventus” data-scaytid=”52″>Juventus man is an excellent player, but we have made absolutely no initiative to buy him.”

Spalletti was rather more open to the Inter figures Zarate and Sneijder, though.

“As for Zarate, I can confirm he was of interest to us, but Mauro does not want to come to Russia.

“Sneijder… who wouldn’t want such a strong player? The Dutchman is wanted by many top level clubs, but he is currently under contract with Inter, who do not seem ready to sell.

“When we’re talking about a player of Sneijder’s calibre, believe me, it all becomes more difficult. Naturally we’re working on the transfer market and two weeks isn’t too much, but nor is it a little.

“You don’t expect me to tell you all of Zenit’s transfer secrets, do you?”
