Luciano Spalletti warns Inter’s poor recent record against Sassuolo is an ‘incentive’ for them to finally secure a win on Saturday.

“Against Sassuolo we start again from our daily work,” he said at a Press conference.

“We want to become a team who exhibit their own, attacking brand of football against every team. We know that to build the Inter we have in mind, we need to keep on doing what we’re doing. That consistency will allow us to be satisfied.

“In the meantime, we congratulate Sassuolo’s management because they sign the right players and dictate the rules of their club.

“They’ve always done a great job, they play good football and they have belief in what they do.

“We haven’t been at our best in our last few games against them, so we must be able to put our work into practice continuously.

“Sassuolo are a good team so we must be close to the peak of our powers, tomorrow and in the weeks that follow if we want to finish where we want to be.

“Nainggolan will be assessed today and tomorrow. It’s not easy to predict how he’ll fare over 90 minutes, but it could also mean playing him from the start and replacing him.

“He’s working steadily and he’s doing pretty well. The players are treating this game like all the others.

“The fact of not having won our last few games against Sassuolo becomes an extra stimulus, wanting to fix the things that didn’t go the way we wanted them to.

“We’re in a position to have good games and pick up some good wins against any team we face. Not having beaten them in our last few meetings becomes an incentive.

“There’s no confusion here. Here everything is organised neatly and the players have the right intentions to do their jobs.

“Social media? You have to be a little mindful of it because they are messages that go directly to everyone.

“Ranocchia, for example, showed he was fond of Inter rather than himself with a nice message…”
