Luciano Spalletti says Inter “have to believe in our strength” after their recent run of poor results.

The Nerazzurri started the season strongly and looked as though they could make a Scudetto push, but they’ve won just one of their last 12 in all competitions.

“The current difficulties aren’t just down to one member of the team,” Spalletti explained in his Press conference ahead of tomorrow’s Benevento match.

“We had a good period and then a terrible one, things went the way they did because we determined them.

“That means it’s us who have to face the difficulties, if we do it as a team then those difficulties will be smaller.

“We have to believe in our strength. It worries me and worries us that we sometimes renounce things and don’t fight to the end.

“Sometimes in training you can see a bit of discouragement after a ball is kicked badly, you lose three seconds worrying about something that’s already gone.

“Those seconds could be used for the next thing. Then what counts is professionalism, the way of behaving, thinking, the ideas we have.

“I’ve seen something more this week, the search for new solutions and willingness to take responsibility. It’s harder now though, because we’re travelling into the wind, rather than having it at our backs.

“On the professionalism of the group I always think the same way, I am convinced that the group will make life hard for everyone.

“Even this morning I saw them working in the right way.The signs are that you have to go deeper and deeper to get the reaction that it takes.”
