Spal Coach Leonardo Semplici insists tomorrow’s Empoli game “represents the beginning of our season”.

The two relegation battlers meet in Ferrara tomorrow afternoon, for what is already being billed as a six-pointer.

“Tomorrow’s match won’t be the most important of the season, but it represents the beginning of our season,” Semplici said in his pre-match Press conference.

“The performances we’ve put in up to now how been useful to understand how Spal should perform every Sunday.

“This will be a crucial game to continue our journey, and to prove to ourselves that we have the means to play well.

“If we lose though I won’t feel under pressure. The season doesn’t end tomorrow.

“A team like ours will be fighting to stay up until the end of the season. We’re aware of our qualities, and we’ll see how the situation evolves during our journey.”
