Semplici was rushed to hospital on Monday evening with stomach pains and had an operation to remove an intestinal blockage.
SPAL released a statement this afternoon confirming his “condition has certainly improved and the situation is now entirely normal.”

However, Semplici will remain in hospital for observation and at this moment no date has been set for his release from the clinic or how long the recovery process will take.
Assistant manager Andrea Consumi will be on the SPAL bench against Sassuolo tomorrow.
