Spadafora’s government, the FIGC and Serie A all finally seem to be in agreement over the way forward to top-flight football restarting in Italy after the original health protocol was modified.
“We’ve helped collaborators and sports workers,” the Minister for Sport told Rai Radio.

Spadafora’s government, the FIGC and Serie A all finally seem to be in agreement over the way forward to top-flight football restarting in Italy after the original health protocol was modified.
“We’ve helped collaborators and sports workers,” the Minister for Sport told Rai Radio.
“Everyone’s been paid for the month of March and they’ll receive their wages for April and May automatically.
“I understand that the lads want to play again after two-and-a-half-months, during which time they’ve shown a sense of responsibility, but precautions are needed.
“A few minutes ago, we officially published the protocol that allows teams to resume [team] training.
“The green light has come from the scientific-technical committee (CTS).”
The politician then reiterated the fate of the 2019-20 season would be decided on May 28.
“On Monday 25, I’ll receive the protocol for resumption of the season from the FIGC.
“I’ll forward it to the CTS to make sure the date of the 28th is the right one to decide whether it can be resumed.
“I want to be optimistic. I said a firm ‘no’ to those who, when we were counting hundreds of deaths a day, asked me about the campaign.
“It’s obvious that if the whole of Italy starts again, football can’t not restart. It’s an industry and a passion for all Italians.
“I don’t want to think about where we would be without that initial line…”
