Although the government’s technical scientific committee (CTS) supports reducing the length of time teams stay in isolation, the law must be amended first, as Spadafora explained.
“Given the health situation has improved, the FIGC proposed changes to the protocol,” he told Porta a Porta.
“Just a few hours ago, the CTS agreed [they could be done] on a scientific basis, but we have to change the rule that is contained in a law decree.
“Either an amendment has to be made or a new decree has to be passed: obviously in both cases, I don’t think they’ll be before June 20. We’ll try to do one of them as soon as possible.
“I’ll talk about it with the Prime Minister and also Minister [of Health] Speranza, but certainly we need a measure that allows a decree to be amended.
“In any case, the FIGC had given willingness to play with even the first protocol, the one where a 14-day quarantine was foreseen.”
