Fiorentina Coach Paulo Sousa accepts fans have a right to voice their frustration after the Viola drew 0-0 with Atalanta.

The Florence side lacked penetration once again against La Dea and have now scored just six times in their opening seven Serie A matches this season.

The final whistle at Artemio Franchi was greeted by jeers from the home support, with the Portuguese boss adding that he understands their concerns.

“There are different factors, we need to focus on our errors in order to move forward,” Sousa admitted post-match.

“In the second half with the changes we were better and we had chances to score. Now we need an injection of confidence in order to get three points.

“It is a team that is going through a negative moment. Last year in the first 20 minutes we would get one or two goals ahead.

“There are a lot of teams who deny us space. Today we had too many problems.

“The booing? We need to recognise that the fans buy a ticket for the victory. When things aren’t going well it is normal to boo. Everyone has the right to do it.”

Sousa then reiterated his belief that Fiorentina’s stuttering form stems from a lack of belief, rather than any tactical or physical issues.

“There is a problem in our heads, but what we did in the second half was very close to what we are.

“Confidence grows with results. We need courage to take us through this difficult period. We need to show what we can do in order to get results.”
