The 36-year-old made 98 appearances for the Granata earlier in his career but says ‘there aren’t the conditions’ for a move back to Turin.

Sorrentino’s contract with the Rosanero expires in the summer, but he assures that ‘there’s no rush’ to find an agreement for a renewal.

“Contract? We’ve already spoken with the club, but we decided to push back reaching our goal, so there’s no rush,” he said to Tuttosport.

“I don’t think that there will be the conditions for a return to Torino, so it’s pointless to think about it.

“I don’t know what I’ll do after, I still feel like a footballer and I think I want to play into my forties in Serie A.”
