Yann Sommer was absent from Bayern Munich’s training session today as he slowly edges closer to a move to Inter.

The Nerazzurri, currently in their pre-season training retreat in Japan, are without any first-choice goalkeepers following the sale of Andre Onana to Manchester United and the departure of Samir Handanovic on a free transfer.

Inter have already identified Sommer as their primary target to take on the number one role but haven’t yet managed to secure his signature, not keen to pay his €6m release clause.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Sommer did not join his Bayern Munich teammates in this morning’s training session in Bavaria, their last before departing for Japan.

His absence is yet another signal that a move to Inter is on the horizon, following on from his absence in their friendly with Rottach-Egern last week.

The Nerazzurri are continuing talks with Bayern and are confident that a deal can be completed soon, for a fee slightly below the €6m clause.
