Udinese’s executive President Franco Soldati insists Silvan Widmer will stay “for a few years”.
The Swiss right-back has impressed for the Zebrette this season, and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, he’s been linked with a move away.
“Silvan is a fundamental player for us,” Soldati explained to FirenzeViola.
“We saw that recently in the games against Fiorentina and Inter, where he was Udinese’s best player. He’s a talent we discovered, and we want to continue to enjoy him.

“I can safely say Widmer will remain at Udinese for a few years. We’re not a supermarket, despite our players being linked with other clubs every day.
“For Widmer there’s interest from all over Europe, and it’s normal that it’s like that. They tell me Napoli are strongly interested, but for now he’s not for sale.
“Silvan is returning from injury, and is getting back to his best form. Our goal is to renew his contract with Udinese, and I think we’ll do it without problems.
“Fiorentina? I’ve always had a good relationship with the Viola hierarchy, there’s no doubt about that.
“But I repeat: for now, Widmer won’t leave Udinese.”
