The Nerazzurri midfielder has been embroiled in a bitter contract dispute with the club after he refused to sign a new deal at San Siro with a reduced wage.

The Netherlands midfielder has since been dropped from the first team by Coach Andrea Stramaccioni, and his representative has confirmed that he would ideally prefer a move to England, but definitely not Queens Park Rangers, as has been reported.

“Wesley is not interested in going to QPR,” Soren Lerby told the BBC. “We haven't heard directly from anyone there.

“England probably has the top League in Europe, so it could appeal, but Wes would want to play at a top club.

“Wesley is one of the best players in Europe. He is fully recovered from his injury and just wants to play football, so we need to find a solution to his situation at Inter.”
