The San Siro club know they must beat Simone Inzaghi’s team if they are to leapfrog their opponents and seal their return to Europe’s premier club competition.

“All players want to play in matches like this,” Skriniar told Inter TV ahead of kick-off.

“We have a big match ahead of us and the only option is to win.

“We have a lot of fans here, we’re all together. We have to win.

“We need to be focused, not just in defence. Then, we are also strong up front.”

Skriniar was asked whether he would be joining the Inter attack at set pieces this evening.

“I’ll certainly go forward. I’d like to score a goal in order to help the team.”
