The Mali international will end the season on loan in Tuscany after a deal was agreed with Paris Saint-Germain this week.

“I’m excited about the new path I'm setting out on with Fiorentina and I'm ready to put all my experience and energy into achieving the targets this prestigious club deserves,” he said in a letter published on the Viola’s website.

“I want to thank the club and the coaching staff for the faith they have shown in me. I'll be there with you soon!”

The former Liverpool man is currently away on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“I’m happy to share this new experience of mine with you all,” he added. “I'd like to thank PSG and my teammates for everything they've done for me and especially the fans for their support.

“I'll always feel a connection with this great club. I wish PSG lots of success in the future.”

Fiorentina will have the option to sign him outright in the summer for €3.5m. Juve sold him in 2011 for €7m.
