Sirigu was in the starting XI and conceded twice in the 2-1 friendly loss at the Stadio Tardini.
“I didn’t see Mathieu Valbuena start the run, he came up with this shot – there’s not much to say. That’s football.
“On the second goal we perhaps could’ve done more, but it was a bit chaotic and I’m not sure where we went wrong.
“I don’t think I am second choice goalkeeper in Italy. We are fortunate to have so many talented goalkeepers in this country and any of us could’ve started. We know Gigi Buffon is the ‘keeper and he is a talisman, so the rest of us try to be ready and give our contribution when needed, albeit realising it’s difficult to replace him.”
Sirigu plies his trade in Ligue 1 and was asked why he went to Paris Saint-Germain.
“At that moment it was difficult for me to stay in Serie A. I didn’t want to go, but some things happened and when PSG and Leonardo outlined their project I realised that at the age of 24 it was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down. It’s also important to live overseas in your life.”
