“Inter should've known Leonardo did not want to be a tactician. It was obvious this was not his first choice,” said Simoni.

“Inter should've known Leonardo did not want to be a tactician. It was obvious this was not his first choice,” said Simoni.
“He didn't start out as a Coach straight after retiring from his playing career and spent years as a director, so they should've had some idea. Leonardo is a cultured man who speaks four or five languages, so he is happier behind a desk than on the training ground.”
The race to find a new manager is dragging on with Marcelo Bielsa, Sinisa Mihajlovic and Andre Villas-Boas pulling out.
“It would've been shameful to pay €15m to buy Villas-Boas out of his Porto contract. He may be talented, but that is a huge amount of money,” continued Gubbio director Simoni.
“I hope Inter find a good Coach, even if in the end a Coach is only as good as the players in his squad.
“I hear talk of Luciano Spalletti, who would be a great choice, as he has earned his place in a top club. We'd have to see if Zenit let him go.
“I can understand those resisting the call of Inter, as there is a lot of pressure there and some players are unhappy. Others pretend to be unhappy so they can get a pay rise.”
