Simone Inzaghi claims controversial decisions by the referee “prevented Lazio from winning” their 1-1 draw with Torino.

It was a chaotic game at the Stadio Olimpico with two red cards, a debatable penalty, a spot-kick appeal rejected and neither side happy with the referee’s performance.

“We put in a great performance and had a record number of scoring opportunities for this season,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“We put in a great performance and had a record number of scoring opportunities for this season,” the Coach told Rai Sport.

“Armando Izzo should’ve been sent off for a second yellow just one minute after he was booked. The lads played very well and deserved to win, but this match was clearly ruined.

“I have to compliment my players, because they did everything possible to win. There were two penalty incidents on Adam Marusic and Francesco Acerbi, plus the Izzo red card and doubts over the Torino penalty.

“I did not protest today, but there were incidents that prevented us from winning the game.”
