New Catania Coach Diego Simeone demands “a team ravenous for victory” as he thanks “the club for having brought me back to Italy.”
The ex-Inter and Lazio midfielder was hired after Marco Giampaolo walked away late last night.

“There is a lot of pressure in Italy and I really like Serie A, as any team can beat you. For example, that is not the case in Spain.

“Maxi Lopez is an extraordinary player and the important thing is to give him the right service, putting him in the best condition to do well.
“Aside from the many Argentine players in the team, there are also numerous talented young Italians. Right now the most important aspect is psychological, talking through how we'll approach Saturday's game in Parma.”
Simeone gave clues as to his tactical approach to Serie A football, promising entertainment.
“I expect the side to press up the field as high as possible, keeping tight and with grit, being ravenous for victory. The idea is to adopt a 4-3-1-2 or 4-2-3-1 system, but I'm not too obsessed with tactics, as the attitude of the team is more important.
“In general, the more strikers you field, the more you are likely to win. Last season Catania achieved safety comfortably, so the fans certainly expect more from the squad now.”
