Palermo have rejected transfer speculation suggesting that they could recall Matias Silvestre from Inter in January.

The Argentine moved to the Beneamata on loan during the summer, but he has struggled to establish himself in the plans of boss Andrea Stramaccioni.

“Stories that we are ready to re-embrace Silvestre are not true, absolutely not,” official Pietro Lo Monaco told FC Inter News.

“Things are being said and written which are totally out of context.

“You all know that when it comes to Inter and Silvestre, they are obliged to sign him outright at the end of the season.

“A possible return to Sicily has not even been contemplated.”

The 28-year-old has only appeared in four Serie A games for the Nerazzurri so far this season.
