The Gazzetta dello Sport understands that the two clubs have done a deal for the centre-back, but the port outfit are still in discussions with his agent.

Silvestre, who Inter were forced to sign this summer from Palermo after last season’s loan spell, no longer features in the plans of the Nerazzurri.

Inter, who didn’t call him up for pre-season training, tried to sell him to Parma this month but the player rejected the Tardini as a destination.

The 28-year-old Argentine, who featured in nine League games last term, is thought to be on a €1.5m a season salary at San Siro.
