Former Lazio and Italy star Beppe Signori was interviewed by police in the betting scandal and denied attempting to fix Inter-Lecce.

The now retired striker is the most famous name in the group arrested by Cremona police with regards to an alleged betting ring around Serie A, B and Lega Pro.

He was interviewed for an hour by police this afternoon and did not speak to journalists, but his lawyer left a statement.

“Signori replied with a definitive ‘No' to the proposal of fixing Inter-Lecce on March 15,” declared Silvio Caroli.
