Sevilla have leapfrogged Schalke 04 in the race for Napoli midfielder Marko Rog, with talks believed to be at an advanced stage.

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in yesterday’s Press conference that Rog was the most likely to leave on loan during the January transfer window.

Several clubs have shown an interest, including Eintracht Frankfurt, Fiorentina, Parma, Genoa and Cagliari.

Schalke 04 had been the favourites for a while, but today Tuttosport and Il Mattino claim Sevilla are in advanced negotiations and close to a deal.
