Today the President met with the mayor of Naples to discuss the Stadio San Paolo, and he spoke to reporters afterward.
“Meret or Areola? Don’t worry about it, the goal will be covered,” De Laurentiis said.

“Meret or Areola? Don’t worry about it, the goal will be covered,” De Laurentiis said.
“Now, go in peace. We talked about the San Paolo and that’s what you expected. Many of you wrote that I was in Paris for Areola, but I was there for the ECA, to talk about football between 2024 and 2027.
“It’s not like one [goalkeeper] is better than the other, it all remains to be seen. We need to see how the team will play, both attacking and defending. The destiny of a goalkeeper depends on the whole context.
“There are three other names, which I won’t reveal, time will tell.”
De Laurentiis did also discuss the stadium, the purpose of today’s meeting with Luigi De Magistris.
“What we want to do is secure the stadium as soon as possible, to play national and international matches.
“With the parties present, we found a way to do that with as little discomfort as possible for the fans. “The fans must be respected, so we’ll work with the agreement that here are no problems and situations that restrict the possibility of enjoying the games.”
