Today it was announced that the forward would leave Verona but keep playing, possibly for Genoa.

However, Cassano then changed his mind once again and said he would “not play football anymore”.

“I remain and will remain astonished by what I’ve learned about Cassano’s apparent lack of motivation,” Setti told the Gialloblu’s official website.

“While pointing out that the player is still contract to the Gialloblu, I’d also like to say that the Verona group comes before the individual and before any player.

“Verona is a historic and passionate club, worthy of consideration and respect. As far as we’re concerned, we’ll keep working to make this team capable of fighting for our objective.”
