Today, the Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora and the members of Italian football will establish if, when and how Serie A resumes.

A long list of participants in today’s meeting has been reported by Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, as the Italian Government meets a complete assembly of football’s governing bodies.

The initial announcement indicated that June 13 was the provisional date for the resumption of the 2019-20 season in Italy.

The resumption of Week 25, postponed due to the global pandemic, will then have to be completed on that day.

Torino-Parma, AtalantaSassuolo, VeronaCagliari and InterSampdoria were the four matches cancelled due to the forced break.

After the completion of Week 25, the teams will reportedly play every three days and the conclusion has been scheduled for early August.

But this is only one of the solutions the representatives are working on. Some of the clubs would like to resume from Week 27 and a full round of fixtures, completing the games in hand on a later date, whilst a third solution proposes to start with the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

The report claims that the games on Saturdays and Sundays should initially be played at 4.15pm, 6.30pm and 8.45pm, but pushed to a later time during the height of summer.

After the meeting at 5.30pm, we should get the confirmation.
