The deadline for Serie A teams to sign players this summer will be August 17 at 20.00 local time, while it is January 18 for the mid-season window.

As confirmed by the FIGC last month, there are radical changes to the structure of the transfer market in Italy from this year.

The clubs and Federation agreed that it was best to ensure trading had stopped by the time the Serie A season began.

As that kicks off on August 18, the transfer deadline is 20.00 local time (19.00 in the UK, 18.00 GMT) on Friday August 17.

Serie A and B clubs cannot sign players – other than free agents – after that deadline.

The January transfer window works along similar lines, so will run from January 3 to Friday January 18, again at 20.00 local time.

However, Serie C clubs can continue purchasing players until Saturday August 25, although their January window remains the same.
