According to various sources over the last few days, including Calcio e Finanza, the plans have been drawn up to ensure the writing on the back of jerseys is standardised throughout the top flight.

There have been some issues lately with fans and media complaining player names and numbers were illegible from a distance.

As things currently stand, it is the kit manufacturers who design and choose the font for Serie A clubs.
