A Sassuolo side strolling to the summer break host an ambitious Monza in their antepenultimate Serie A match of the season.
The match between the Neroverdi and the Biancorossi kicks off at 19.45 UK time at the Mapei Stadium in Reggio-Emilia.
Alessio Dionisi’s Sassuolo bounced back from their poor start to the season in mid-January, doing enough to climb far enough away from the relegation zone. In recent weeks, however, things have started to look tough again, with the team only picking up one point in their last three outings, losing to Inter and Lazio, and drawing Bologna.
The Neroverdi are without Agustin Alvarez and Armand Lauriente, both of whom are sidelined with injuries.
On the other side of the coin, Monza have been in a run of rich form in the last few months, losing just once since last February, a 2-0 defeat to Lazio on April 2. They’ve also managed five wins and five draws in that time, taking them into the top half of the table. Last weekend, the team secured an impressive 2-0 win over Serie A winners Napoli.
Monza almost have a fully fit squad for the clash, although Andrea Colpani may not appear due to a muscle complaint.
