Multiple reports in Italian media have revealed Serie A clubs voted yes to the entry of CVC Capital Partners, who have been granted the exclusivity and will become a 10 per cent shareholder of the media company created with the Lega Serie A.

There were 15 votes for and five against in the Assembly this afternoon and the investment giant, who is known for their investments in Formula 1 and rugby’s Six Nations, should have the capacity to provide an immediate flow of liquidity to football clubs and get the rights for 10 years.

The goal would be to establish a newco where the TV rights would converge starting from 2021, when the contract with Sky and DAZN expires.
