Serie A players take to the field with a red smudge on their cheeks this weekend as part of a social media initiative fighting violence against women.
Over the last few days, players have been posting images on social media alongside their wives and girlfriends, featuring only two blotches of colour.
It is a red streak down the cheek of the man and red lipstick on her mouth.
The campaign is organised by the Lega Serie A and Players’ Association, called ‘Give violence against women the red card.’
