The Viola had dominated the first half and could easily have had more goals along with the Riccardo Sottil opener, meeting a Gonzalez low cross.
However, Darmian finished off a good Nicolò Barella counter and within three minutes Dzeko’s header had turned the game around completely.
Gonzalez was sent off for sarcastically applauding the referee, which freed up Inter to add a third through Ivan Perisic.
The Croatian takes the number of different players to score for Inter this season in Serie A to 11 after five rounds.
