Simone Zaza has not had the best of times at Toro, but he impressed with a six-goal showing.

Verona were similarly devastating as Giampaolo Pazzini netted five in a 12-0 victory over Primiero.

As for Inter, the Conte era began with a 2-1 victory over Lugano, debutant Stefano Sensi getting on the scoresheet.

Marcelo Brozovic doubled the Nerazzurri’s lead just before half-time, although the Swiss pulled one back towards the end.

However, Radja Nainggolan was nowhere to be seen, while sections of the 7,000-strong crowd were heard singing anti-Mauro Icardi chants.

Bologna defeated Sciliar 5-0 without Mihajlovic in the dugout, although his name was sportingly mentioned on the teamsheet.

Elsewhere, Atalanta began their first-ever Champions League campaign with a 5-1 win against Clusone and Fiorentina’s reserve team scored one more versus Real Vicenza.
