The situation is verging on farcical now, as the Government issued a new decree on Wednesday ordering all sporting events in Italy will be played behind closed doors until April 3 to prevent further spread of the Coronavirus.

The situation is verging on farcical now, as the Government issued a new decree on Wednesday ordering all sporting events in Italy will be played behind closed doors until April 3 to prevent further spread of the Coronavirus.
There have been over 3,000 positive tests for the disease in Italy, with 107 deaths, until now mainly localised in the Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto regions.
The decree covers all regions as of today, but despite the announcement coming almost 24 hours ago, there has still been not a single message from the Lega Serie A even acknowledging this.
The FIGC (Italian Football Federation) released a statement last night, but they are not in charge of organising the games.
To make matters worse, although it is widely reported the Serie A fixture list will be shuffled along by a week, there continues to be no confirmation at all.
So we could have Juventus–Inter played on Sunday for Week 26, or Inter-Sampdoria and Bologna-Juventus for Week 27, there has been no official word on either option.
Thursday afternoon is usually when the Serie A referees for this weekend’s games are assigned, but as of now, we don’t know what matches are being played at all.
