Stefano Sensi trained as usual with Inter on Wednesday morning, but Championship side Leicester City are still hoping to sign the 28-year-old before the January transfer window deadline.
According to updates from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sensi was at Pinetina with the rest of the Nerazzurri first team on Wednesday morning and took part in training as normal.
The pink paper suggests that Inter and Leicester had an agreement in principle a few days ago for a fee of around €3.5m, but an official agreement has still not been reached according to the latest updates.
Reports from Calciomercato.com on Tuesday evening indicate that Leicester are hoping to bring Sensi in on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy if they are promoted back to the Premier League at the end of the season.
However, Sensi is out of contract with Inter in the summer, so Leicester’s proposal could leave the Nerazzurri at risk of losing the player to another club for free if Leicester don’t go up this year.
And so, negotiations continue. Leicester are keen to add midfielder reinforcements before the end of the January transfer window, having had Italy U21 starlet Cesare Casadei recalled by parent club Chelsea earlier in the month.
