“We want to continue our positive streak both in terms of performance and points,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“In order to do that, we must play on level terms with the form team in Serie A right now. Even just one point would mean returning home with an important result and could be fundamental for our final destination.

“It’ll be a particularly important day for me and I want the lads to impress, as I’ll have many friends and family in the stands. I don’t know how my home city will greet me, but I have no doubts it’ll be a benevolent welcome.”

SPAL will be without Pasquale Schiattarella, Alberto Grassi, Stefan Simic, Jasmin Kurtic and Boukary Drame.

“Either Eros Schiavon or Mattia Vitale will play in midfield, although Bartosz Salamon could be an interesting option if needed. We could’ve done without all these injuries, because we can’t really rotate the squad in the midweek round, as we have to play with our identity and our style.

“We’ve not been lucky lately with penalties, but I don’t want to hear any alibis. My job is to improve the team, not judge the referee.”
