“We hadn’t approached the game in the right way, as we were too irritable and didn’t mark them closely enough. Despite all that, we still took the lead.
“Empoli played better, especially in the first half. We reorganised after the break and came out with a different mentality.
“Even after the Cionek red card, the team kept believing and we were able to get a point, but we’ve got a lot of work to do in order to improve.
“It’s a difficult road ahead, but I remain convinced we have what it takes to achieve our objective. If we’d had a little more strength, we could’ve achieved something remarkable.”
