Matias Ezequiel Schelotto admits that he dreams of making the Italy squad for the 2012 European Championship.

The Atalanta player is uncapped at full level, but the Argentine-born former Italian Under-21 international is keen on wearing the Azzurri jersey next summer.

“It would be nice to get an opportunity to play at Euro 2012,” the wide-man told Radio Kiss Kiss in an interview.

“However, Coach Cesare Prandelli will make his decisions and I will always respect whatever conclusions he makes.”

The former Cesena and Catania player has been a revelation this season, so much so that he’s been linked with the likes of Inter and Napoli, amongst others.

“You will have to ask the club directors here at Atalanta about my future,” the South American continued.

“At the moment I play for them and that is all that I am thinking about. We can talk about the transfer market further down the line.”
