Ezequiel Matias Schelotto has wasted no time in aligning himself with Catania ahead of tonight's clash with his former side Cesena.

The 21-year-old wing-back left Cesena on deadline day after two and a half seasons at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi.

He had fallen out with Massimo Ficcadenti and was no longer playing regularly despite being an Italy Under-21 international.

Schelotto can't play tonight on account of an agreement between the two sides, but would like to salute the fans.

"I am happy to have landed in Sicily. Parma and Samp also wanted me, but Catania went the distance," Schelotto explained.

"I am very tied to Cesena. You can't forget the back-to-back promotions. But now I am thinking about my new team.

"Today I support Catania and I hope that they win.

"Catania represents a professional jump in my career. They are a team who will manage to climb back up the team."
